From small parties to medium sized events: creating immersive experiences through technology and creative direction.
Intro / Project & Idea
While still in school, I founded ftre.co, a small equipment rental and live event service that grew from lending speakers for birthdays to supporting smaller events. The goal wasn’t just to provide gear it was to create an atmosphere.
I handled everything myself: sound engineering, lighting design, stage setup, and creative concept development. (Though I did have help in transport until I had my drivers license) Many events featured interactive experiences, such as live music voting or reactive lighting sequences that responded to the crowd. I collaborated closely with organizers to make each event unique and visually cohesive.
Result
Over time, ftre.co became somewhat known locally for combining technical elements with creative styling. I designed the visual identity and promotional materials for several smaller events, including flyers, posters, social media ads, and on-stage graphics, ensuring that the visual and sensory experience worked seamlessly together.
On-site and depending on the event, I managed full sound and light engineering, programmed lighting systems, and provided the technical infrastructure for live performances, parties, and festivals. The result was a set of events that felt both professionally executed and creatively personal, proving how much can be achieved with limited resources and clear artistic vision.
What started as a side project evolved into a small, self-sustaining venture that taught me the fundamentals of technical direction, live production, and audience-driven design: skills that continue to influence my multidisciplinary work today.
