Overview
Pastel Association was a student-led creative community I co-founded at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. The organization aimed to provide students with a space to disconnect from academic pressure and reconnect with creativity through art, design, and collaboration.
As Communications Lead, I was responsible for all digital and physical outreach: managing social media, coordinating event communication, maintaining the email system, and overseeing registrations via Lu.ma. I also supported event logistics, collaborations with the university’s campus management, and coordinated with other student initiatives.
Goal
I helped to build a thriving creative community through consistent communication, inclusive events, and vibrant storytelling across media.
Hosted and promoted creative workshops — including a Blender 3D workshop I personally led.
Managed Lu.ma for event registration and handled all email communications and member outreach.
Filmed, edited, and designed all visual materials — including social media posts, videos, and posters for events and campaigns.
Collaborated with campus management and student initiatives to gain official support.
Organized collaborative art events, such as a giant public canvas installation for collective painting.
Represented Pastel at university markets and student fairs, growing visibility across the campus.
Co-curated and organized a final gallery exhibition where members and other students showcased their artwork publicly.
Result
We built a creative community of over 100 students who actively participated in our events, many of whom formed lasting friendships through the association. Over the course of more than 20 workshops and activities, Pastel became a driving force in the university’s creative scene inspiring collaboration, self-expression, and inclusion. Even after we graduated, it’s been rewarding to see the association continue thriving and welcoming new members.
