Intro / Project & Idea
In my hometown, an old production studio had fallen into disuse: equipped with early-2000s hardware, a mostly broken lighting system, and no clear workflow. Seeing its potential, I took full initiative to bring the studio back to life, transforming it into a functioning broadcast environment capable of handling professional productions.
The project was financially supported by the studio’s original owner and a third-party production company that supplied additional technical equipment. Working independently, I handled every step of the transformation from the initial cleanup to rewiring, lighting modernization, and full system integration, building a space that could rival modern studios in reliability and flexibility.
Result
The revived studio became a fully operational production space, hosting professional broadcasts such as ARD Morgenmagazin and Gourmondo.tv.
As the sole technical manager, I was responsible for the entire setup, operation, and maintenance:
Rebuilt and modernized the lighting system for dynamic, professional control.
Designed a complete cabling and routing infrastructure, ensuring reliable audio-visual connections throughout the studio.
Operated as PTZ Camera Operator for the ARD Christmas Special and later as Lead Audio Engineer for the Easter Special, managing all feeds to the external OB van.
Prepared and operated the studio for Gourmondo.tv, coordinating directly with Karma Productions and managing all in-house electronics.
Thanks to financial and equipment support from the original owner and partners, and my full technical execution, the once-forgotten space became a sustainable, broadcast-ready studio that remained active until my move to the Netherlands.
